The City of San Antonio's Convention Sports and Entertainment Facilities Department is seeking proposals from firms to provide design and construction administration services for the Henry B. Gonzalez (HBGCC) West Building Encased Space (Project). The scope of work includes improvements to all existing levels of the building as needed to support anticipated renovations. Work is to include a Junior Ballroom, meeting rooms with operable walls to give flexibility to the rooms, catering support spaces including back of the house circulation that access meeting rooms and the Junior Ballroom. Additional scope of work includes existing restroom renovations, additional restrooms as needed to meet code which include new restrooms at the River Level to serve outdoor events, public area lobbies and corridors. Balconies to provide view to the Hemisfair Park, new elevator(s), and escalator(s), one service loading dock, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), structural, and fire suppression as required throughout the west building and connections to the existing facilities. Retail Space in the exterior, west side of the building facing Hemisfair Park is also part of the scope of work for this project.
