Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a 62,805-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The Work consists of renovations to the existing Adams Elementary School target the modernization of the administration suite, reconfiguration and upgrade of resource spaces, and upgrades to core classroom spaces. The existing building layout features a one-story academic wing with a central library and administration suite. As a part of this project, the administrative suite will be removed from the center of the building and relocated into a small addition at the perimeter, near the public parking area. In place of the former administration space, a central core of library, art and music rooms will occupy freshly renovated space. The higher roof provided over the multi-purpose room will provide an acceptable space for physical education activities. Clerestory windows will add natural light to the multi-purpose room. Classrooms will receive upgrades to restrooms, casework, ceilings, and finishes. All renovations will conform to modern accessibility standards and code requirements. Foodservice will not be a part of this project; however, a new hood will be added to the kitchen. The elementary school will be occupied during 0construction and will require phasing. Construction shall not disrupt normal classroom activity. The finished elementary school will accommodate 460 students and will encompass approximately 62,500 square feet. Project is located at 600 S Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23223. Pursuant to Henrico County Code Section 16-43, the County School Board of Henrico County, Virginia shall be the awarding authority when the contract amount is over $200,000. Otherwise, the award will be made by the Purchasing Director. Bids must be accompanied by either a cashier's check or certified check or bidder's bond (AIA 310) in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Amount and made payable to the County of Henrico, Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and/or reject all bids. In accordance with Va.
