Renovation of a detention facility in Saint John, New Brunswick. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
The Scope of Work is to upgrade cells in Unit 5 (26 cells), and 10 shower areas. Scope is being limited to cells and hoarded off secure areas as day rooms cannot be decommissioned for any period of time due to COVID. While working in Unit 5 there will be no offenders in that zone, however only one half of the unit (12 cells) can be completed at a time to ensure 50% of the cells in a dedicated occupancy zone are always operational in the event of an emergency. Once a construction zone is complete, an inspection and all deficiencies shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Architect/Engineer prior to commencing the next construction zone.
