Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Mount Albert, Ontario. Design plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Upgrades from the 2021 Mount Albert Water Supply Upgrades Class EA to implement oxidation-filtration treatment at water production facilities (wells) and for upgrades to maximize servicing capacity at the Mount Albert Water Recovery Facility (WRRF) without changing the facility's rated capacity outlined in the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA). The Town of East Gwillimbury (the Town) has identified that servicing for an additional 2,000 persons is required to complete buildout of residential lands within the Mount Albert community. To address the servicing needs, the Region conducted an optimization study that identified minor upgrades to increase the servicing capacity of the Mount Albert WRRF without triggering a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA). TIMELINE: Design is ongoing. Updates may be available spring 2026.
