The Project consists of General, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Electrical Work required for the New Municipal Maintenance Building Project. This project will be constructed under a General Construction Contract The Bids will be received on a lump sum basis. Each proposal shall include all labor, material; and services necessary to complete the project in strict accordance with the Construction Drawings. Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security, which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid, in the required form and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Bidder to whom an award is made, shall furnish a 100% Performance Bond & Labor and Material Payment Bond in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. No Bid shall be modified, withdrawn or canceled for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date and time set for receipt of Bids. Bidders and sub-contractors shall not discriminate in employment practices All General Contractors may attend the pre-bid conference with representatives of the Owner, Architect and Engineers to discuss construction sequence, security, contractor's work and storage areas and requirements for contractor's personnel working on the Project. No additional costs of any type will be allowed by the failure of the Bidder to avail themselves of the privilege of on-site inspection and pre-bid conference. The City of Berne reserves the right to reject any and all Bids; is not obligated to accept the lowest or any other Bid; and may waive any formalities in bidding procedures
