Renovation of a mixed-use development in Papaikou, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

For Kalanianaole Elementary and Intermediate Building I Cafeteria Install New Ceiling Fans Furnish and install three (3) Big Ass fans or Equivalent in the cafeteria dining room (Building I). Pursuant to HRS 103D-305(b), Procurements greater than $50,000 for construction under subsection (a) shall require security by performance and payment bonds, pursuant to section 103D-324, delivered to the procurement officer, that are: (1) In a form prescribed by the rules of the policy board; (2) Executed by a surety company authorized to do business in this State; and (3) In an amount equal to one hundred percent of the price specified in the contract, or shall otherwise be secured by a performance bond in a manner satisfactory to the procurement officer. Liquidated Damages: In accordance with the Interim General Conditions, Article 7 Prosecution and Progress, Section 7.26 Failure to Complete the Work On Time, upon failure to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the State, in the amount of $100, per calendar day of delay for contracts less than $50,000, or in the amount of $200, per calendar day of delay for contracts $50,000 or higher, unless otherwise noted. Okada Trucking Decision: "A" general engineering contractors and "B" general building contractors are reminded that due to the Hawaii Supreme Court's January 28, 2002 decision in Okada Trucking Co., Ltd. v. Board of Water Supply, et al., 97 Haw. 450 (2002), they are prohibited from undertaking any work, solely or as part of a larger project, which would require the general contractor to act as a specialty contractor in any area where the general contractor has no license. Although the "A" and "B" contractor may still bid on and act as the "prime" contractor on an "A" or "B" project (See, HRS 444-7 for the definitions of an "A" and "B" project.), respectively, the "A" and "B" contractor may only perform work in the areas in which they have the appropriate contractor's license (An "A" or "B" contractor obtains "C" specialty contractor's licenses either on its own, or automatically under HAR 16-77-32.). The remaining work must be performed by appropriately licensed entities. It is the sole responsibility of the contractor to review the requirements of this project and determine the appropriate licenses that are required to complete the project." Unless otherwise indicated, questions regarding this solicitation must be directed, via email or phone, to the Contact Person listed Scope of Work: o To install three (3) Big Ass Fans or Equivalent in the cafeteria dining room (Building I). o Fan size are to be 60" in diameter. o Fan placement are marked in red in attach ceiling fan plan. o Each fan is to be installed as an individual unit with its own wall mounted variable speed fan control. o Fan controls are to be mounted on the kitchen side wall pointed out in attached picture. o The installation of the fans shall be per manufacturer's recommendation and shall be performed to industry standards. The Contractor shall comply with all current local, State, and National ordinances and applicable uniform building code including UBC and N.E.C. o Contractor shall be responsible for any additional materials or hardware necessary for a complete installation. o Contractor will be responsible for the installation of control wires and wall mounted fan controls (includes all materials). o Contractor will be responsible to check if sufficient electrical is available before ordering the equipment. o Contractor will be responsible to supply all electrical materials and equipment to supply power to the fans.
