Demolition, site work and addition to a fire / police facility in Hebron, Illinois. Completed plans call for the addition of a fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
Work consists of the demolition of the existing building south of the main apparatus bay and the construction of a new, wood-framed addition to house a community room, administrative offices, sleeping units and a dayroom for firefighter use. All emergency operations must remain operational during all phases of construction. Any Requests for Information (RFI) shall be submitted via email to Zach Enderle, Vice President, 1919 Architects, P.C. (zach@1919architects.com) no later than 5:00 p.m. local time on the 3rd day of February 2023. BID BOND: Bid Bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount of not less than 5% of the base bid shall be submitted with each bid. Failure to submit an acceptable bid bond with the bid will result in the rejection of the bid. Bid Bond shall be in the form of an approved insurance company Bid Bond or a Cashier's Check issued to HAGFPD. PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE: The successful bidder shall be required to provide a Performance Bond in the sum equal to One Hundred Percent (100%) of the amount of the bid, with sureties to be approved by the District. Said bond shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of the Work specified in accordance with the plans and specifications and according to the time, terms, and conditions of the contract. WAGE RULES/PREVAILING WAGES/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION/EEOC: Work performed under this contract shall be in accordance with Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1, et seq.), the Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act (820 ILCS 265/1, et seq.), Drug Free Workplace Act (30 ILCS 580/1, et seq.), and any applicable superseding ordinance or public law. Attention is called to the provisions for Equal Employment Opportunity Act. All Contractors who are awarded construction related contracts must document Affirmative Action to ensure Equal Opportunity in Employment. This documentation is subject to review by the Regional Office of the Department of Labor. As a part of normal contract administration, HAGFPD is responsible for determining the Contractor's compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity Clause and Affirmative Action Requirements as well as the Contractor's performance in executing those requirements. HAGFPD is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal, or county Retailers Occupational Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in the Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. Each bid shall include all elements of construction to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, applicable taxes, and all other expense items to completely perform the work required. Bids will be held good and may not be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of opening without the written consent of the District. All MBE/DBE/WBE Contractors, Subcontractors and Suppliers are encouraged to participate on District projects. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any irregularities and/or reject any or all bids when, in the District's opinion, such action will serve the best interest of the District. The District also reserves the right to cancel the bidding process before bid envelopes are opened.
