The Work included under this Contract shall consist of all labor, materials, equipment, and the performance of all work necessary to complete the project known as General Aviation Apron Expansion as described in the Contract Documents. This project is located at the Lynchburg Regional Airport, 350 Terminal Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502. The Scope of Work includes construction of a concrete apron pavement to connect an existing general aviation apron to support a proposed Freedom Aviation Hangar building (building by others). Work elements include excavation, geotextile fabric, crushed aggregate base, cement-treated aggregate base, and cement-concrete paving (2,500 SY w/ 13.5" thickness). Additional work elements will include joint sealing, turf establishment, and the relocation of an existing area light and associated circuitry. Bid Alternate #1 will include expanded work elements related to the adjacent overhead area lights, including (3) new LED lights and light poles. Note: There is an 8% DBE goal requirement set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for AIP projects. The FAA Contract Provisions include Davis-Bacon Requirements that will be mandatory; wage rates valid at the time of bidding shall be effective throughout the contract term.
