This Project is being funded in part by an Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Grant. Firms certified by the state of Illinois Central Management Services Business Enterprise Program are encouraged to submit bids on this Project. Bids shall be submitted on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to: A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative District 806, Attn: Executive Director and plainly marked "Sealed Bid" and list the Submitting Contractor's Name with Trade Package 32B - Landscaping on the outside of the envelope. Lump sum bids for Bid Release 03 will be received until the scheduled time, publicly opened and read aloud for the following Trades Package: Trade Package 32B - Landscaping The contract awards will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. While price is important, past similar experience and ability to timely deliver the project on budget are also important considerations. The A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative District 806 reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make an award that in the Board's opinion is in the best interest of District 806. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works. Bidders must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, Substance Abuse Prevention, Drug Free Workplace and any applicable superseding ordinance or public law. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cash in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative District 806. Successful bidders are required to provide Performance and Payment (P&P) Bonds for 100% of the awarded sum. Cost to furnish P&P bonds shall be included in base bid. Bonds will be made payable to IHC Construction Companies, LLC. and include a Dual Obligee Rider adding A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative District 806. The successful bidder will be required to furnish insurance equal to or greater than the specified amounts in the General Conditions. The cost of the insurance will be included in each bidder's proposal.
