Stony Brook University Hospital ("SBUH") is seeking multidiscipline engineers to perform field testing and inspections, in accordance with the requirements listed below. SBUH will need continuity of inspectors. Mandatory requirements include, but are not limited to: Testing & Inspection Specifications All testing and inspections are per the 2020 Building Code of New York State (NYS BC) A. Steel specification section 051200 (Per NYS BC Section 1705.2.1 Structural Steel: Inspection Requirements of AISC 360. Specification section Field Inspection Material Certification Weld inspection Bolted Connections (Note: This is covered under weld inspection above and more clearly defined in the project specification) B. Post Installed Anchor Inspection specification section 051200. (Per NYS BC Section 1705.3, Concrete Construction: Table 1705.3, Item 4: Post installed anchors to be inspected in accordance with ACI 318, Section 17.8.2.) Installation per manufacturer's published installation instructions (MPII), and relevant evaluation reports (ICC-ES ESR or other) for the product. Perform torque testing on bolting installed into slab edges Perform visual inspection on bolts / screws attaching vertical mullions Pull test for embed anchors (epoxy set) C. Spray Applied Fire Proofing (Patching inspection) specification section 078110 (Per Section NYS BC Section 1705.14 Sprayed Fire Resistance Materials). Condition of substrate Material type and thickness Density in pounds per cubic foot. Adhesion testing bond strength Condition of finished application D. Fire Stopping (slab edge to curtain wall) specification section 078110 and 078400 (Per NYS BC Section 1705.17 Fire Resistant Penetrations and Joints). In accordance with ASTM E2174 Material uses and engineering verifications Material Thickness E. Insulation specification section 072100 Material verification and thickness F. Additional required inspections (Upon Request) Per NYS BC Section 1704.6.1 Structural Observations for Wind Resistance: Periodic. Per NYS BC Section 1705.11.3 Wind-Resisting Components: Periodic inspection of fastening of exterior wall covering and wall connections to floor diaphragms and framing. This should include CW connection brackets at floor levels. Turnaround Time Testing and inspections are expected conducted during 4 days out of a 5 days business work week during business hours of 7:00 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday. The Schedule work week will be determined by the Department of Facilities Project Manager. Testing and inspection results are expected to be provided to the Department of Facilities Project Manager within one (1) week of testing and inspections. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. Bidders must provide a minimum of three (3) references. At least one of these formal reference sites must be a 350+ bed academic medical center or teaching hospital with full Curtain Wall Testing and Inspecting. Any vendor who would like to submit a proposal must contact the designated Hospital Purchasing contract listed in this advertisement within the allotted time frame in order to receive a bid packet.
