The work includes excavation, geogrid and/or geotextile fabric placement and backfill with granular material of weak subgrade areas identified by the County. In submitting this bid it is understood that the right is reserved by the owner to reject any and all such bids and to waive irregularities, and it is agreed that this bid may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days from this opening thereof The undersigned being familiar with the local conditions affecting the cost of the work and the Special Provisions for the roadway subgrade repair, hereby propose to furnish all labor, materials and equipment required for the repair of the road subgrades in connection therewith. The Contractor will be paid for the performance of the work in accordance to the following units and unit prices as set forth below, as follows Subgrade Repair - Materials & Labor S.Y. B. Subgrade Repair - Labor Only S.Y. C. Mobilization 5-20 Miles One Time Set Fee to Location D. Mobilization 21-50 Miles One Time Set Fee to Location E. Mobilization >51 Miles One Time Set Fee to Location The contract will be awarded on the lowest "Unit cost" bid as submitted and based on availability No bid security will be required with the Bid. 4. Certificate of current Liability Insurance due at bid time, updated Certificate of Insurance with Mountrail County listed as Certificate Holder will be required PRIOR to any work being awarded. (Copy of most recent Liability Insurance must be included.) 5. The undersigned is duly and regularly licensed as required by Chapter 49-07 and 43-07 (subsections 1-26) of North Dakota Century Code and holds a Class Contractor's License No. . (Copy of most recent Contractors License must be included. Materials A. The geogrid shall be TriAx TX-160, the geotextile shall be Fabric R1 or an approved equal. The approved equal will be determined by the County Engineer. B. The aggregate shall meet the specifications of NDDOT Class 5 or Class 13. C. Mountrail County retains the right to supply all materials for all subgrade repair projects. If materials are furnished by Mountrail County, it will be the responsibility of contractor to haul materials from determined site in Mountrail County at no additional cost to Mountrail . Construction Requirements A. The Contractor shall excavate the subgrade repair areas to a depth of 2.0' +/- below the road top. The excavated material shall be spread evenly at a maximum thickness of 6" on the inslope of the road. B. The Contactor shall place the geogrid and/or geotextile in the bottom excavation per manufacturer's specifications. The Contractor shall not operate equipment on the geogrid and/or geotextile prior to the placement of the aggregate. C. The Contractor shall place the aggregate over the geogrid and/or geotextile in lifts of 6-8". The aggregate shall be pushed onto the geogrid and/or geotextile from one end using a dozer or a loader. D. Refer to the attached subgrade repair detail. Measurement and Payment A. Mobilization will be paid each time the County provides a new scope of work to the Contractor for hauls in excess of five (5) miles or more. There will be no demobilization fees paid by Mountrail County. B. Prior to each mobilization, Contractor needs to specify starting point and such starting point needs to be agreed upon in writing between the Contractor and County Engineer. C. All Labor and Material costs required to perform the work shall be included in the "SY" unit price for "Subgrade Repair - Materials & Labor (Item A in Bidder's Form)". D. All Labor costs required to perform the work shall be included in the "SY" unit price for "Subgrade Repair - Labor Only (Item B in Bidder's Form)"
