Bidders eligible to submit Bids for this Request for Tenders have been previously selected through the process of a Request for Prequalifications, issued under Contract C14-05-22 which closed on August 2, 2022. The Binbrook Memorial Hall located at 2600 Regional Road 56 in Binbrook, Ontario is a standalone heritage building utilized as a community hall and theater space. The main two storey central portion of the building was originally constructed circa 1924, with various single storey additions added to the north, south, and west elevations of the main structure after original construction. The original central portion of the building contains the main theater/hall space with other smaller support rooms. The lower single building additions contain a small theater space, open concept community hall area with kitchen, washrooms, and storage spaces. The original central portion of the building and structure below were observed to be constructed with wood framing members understood to be supporting a wood roof deck. The majority of the remaining building additions were observed to contain both drop-ceiling tile systems and areas of exposed bottom roof deck surfaces comprised of a lightweight precast concrete interlocking reinforced hollow-core slab (Rapidex) roof deck system. The City of Hamilton wishes to complete the removal, disposal and replacement of the specified roof systems and all related carpentry, sheet metal, sealant, electrical and mechanical work at the Place of The Work.
