The overarching goal of this project is to create an engaging, developmentally appropriate, and beautiful playground in memory of Jenae Larson, who was killed tragically in a landslide in Haines in December 2020. At the time of the landslide, Jenae was 23 years old and in her first year as the kindergarten teacher at the Haines School. To honor Jenae and her legacy in our community (and beyond), we plan to build a K-2 playground at the Haines School that is more meaningfully connected to our community and includes elements of the Haines lifestyle that Jenae loved.
