The intent and purpose of this Unsealed-IFB is to solicit bids from qualified vendors to establish a 12-month contract and optional 4 years renewals for Solid Waste Removal & Recycling for the Virginia Industries for the Blind Headquarters located at 1102 Monticello Road, Charlottesville VA 22902. Services rendered will consist of: 1. Hauling and disposal of solid waste and recycling from a compactor dumpster. 2. The inspection and repair of the compactor. a. Haul Rate Per Pull, 40 Cubic Yard Compactor Dumpster b. Disposal Rate Per Ton, 40 Cubic Yard Compactor Dumpster c. Haul Rate Per Pull, 30 Cubic Yard Roll Away d. Disposal Rate Per Ton, 30 Cubic Yard Roll Away Dumpster e. Flat Rate Inspection fee for Compactor f. Hourly Labor Rate for Repair of Compactor Dumpster pickup days will be scheduled ahead of time by the contract administrator; vendor(s) must adhere to the appointment time selected. In the event a holiday coincides with the scheduled pickup day(s), the Contractor shall contact the contract administrator to reschedule the service on the next business day. The purpose of this visit is to allow potential bidders an opportunity to evaluate the compactor where services will be performed. Questions and clarification relative to any facet of this UIFB shall be sent to Alfred Shoniregun @ Alfred.shoniregun@dbvi.virginia.gov. If a bidder does not make a site visit and is awarded the contract, a claim of not knowing/realizing the machine requiring service will not be accepted as a reason to make any adjustments to the contract. Again, site visits are strongly encouraged and will be available to bidders who intend to respond to this UIFB during regular working days and hours only.
