Project is going to be rebid. The Town of Killen will be accepting sealed bids for the purchase, installation, and construction of six new dug outs for the Killen Park. Dug Out Specifications - Dug Outs will be the first field project to be completed Dug outs shall be constructed with walls made of split faced concrete block The Dug Outs will be 8' width The Dug Outs shall not move further onto the field from where they are currently located The Concrete walls be utilized on the 2 side walls and the back wall. The roof shall be constructed of pressure treated out door lumber for the roof construction with a metal roof for the top of the building. This should fit on top of the block walls with no gaps making it look seamless Dug outs shall be 24' in length for the main structure with an 8' storage area built onto the third base side (left side if looking at the outfield from home plate) The front (field Facing) will be left open and black pvc coated commercial chain-link fence will be used to cover that area. To be completed by the fence contractor. Electricity will need to be ran into the storage room for lights and 2 plugs with switch located on the right side of the entry into the storage area. The floors of the dugout will be broom finish concrete, 4" thick, the concrete will need to be raised up from the dirt field by 4"and should have a slight slop for drainage to the back of the dugout, away from the field. The dugouts will need to have water and electricity ran to them during construction with a water spicket installed inside the third base side storage area, left side of the door. There will also need to be a water line ran to both back wall corners of each dugout third and first base with a shutoff valve installed, 7z" quarter turn shutoff. A plug will also need to be ran on both back corners of each dugout for the fans that will be installed. There will need to be a metal exterior door of at least 36" wide and standard height installed on each storage room on the third base side. This door will need to open out onto the field and not inside of the room.
