The work consists of fire suppression sprinkler head replacement and associated system testing by a fire protection licensed contractor at five (5) Stations: Embarcadero (M16), Montgomery (M20), Civic Center (M40), 16th St. Mission (M50), and 24th St. Mission (M60) with optional scope including fire suppression sprinkler head replacement and associated system testing at eight (8) stations: Downtown Berkeley (R20),12th St. Oakland (K10), 19th St. Oakland (K20), Lake Merritt (A10), Ashby (R10), North Berkeley(R30), Richmond (R60), and Lafayette (C30) as further described in the Contract Specifications. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The estimated value of this Contract is $ 2.0M to $ 2.6M . Bidders that meet or exceed the LSB Subcontractor participation goal will be eligible for a Bid preference of 7%of the Bid Price of the lowest responsible Bidder's total Bid price up to a maximum of $150,000, only during evaluation for determining Award of the Contract. The purpose of Contract 54RR-249 is to replace all sprinkler heads in stations approaching 50 years in age (31 sites all-inclusive), with exception at Powell Street, Union City and Daly City Stations. The primary scope of the Contract includes five large underground San Francisco stations, and Contract Options 1-4 include scope at other station sites across Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco Counties. The Contractor shall verify site conditions and requirements prior to ordering materials and equipment. The Contractor shall properly and legally dispose of any recycling, waste and or hazardous waste generated during the construction process in compliance with state and local regulations. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment required to perform the Work specified in Article 1.05.A, Scope of Work. All materials shall be new unless otherwise noted. Materials shall be submitted and approved prior to purchasing and installation in accordance with 01 33 00, Submittal Procedures.
