As of April 13, 2023, project was awarded to MD Thomas Construction, LLC, awarded amount is $695,597.05. For the construction of: Project Name: CANOE TRAIL POST-HURRICANE SALLY REPAIRS The project consists of repairing Hurricane Sally damages to 10 sites along the Canoe Trail in Orange Beach. The damaged facilities to be repaired include multiple timber piers, wooden split-rail fences, wooden privacy fences, wayfinding signs, concrete sidewalk, timber bulkhead, floating docks and all incidental work as outlined in the bid documents. The Contractor shall provide all labor, machinery, and materials as per specifications to complete all work as listed in the bid documents. Bids in excess of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the City of Orange Beach in an amount not less than 5% of the bid amount, but in no event more than $10,000. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required from the Contractor. The Contractor will be required to obtain a business license from the city to operate within the Corporate Limits. Work will begin in accordance with the Notice to Proceed with work completed within TWO HUNDRED (200) WORKING DAYS once commenced. Liquidated damages shall be assessed as outlined in the bid documents. Sealed bids must be mailed or delivered to the City of Orange Beach prior to the public opening. Marine Construction sub-classification may be allowed in lieu of the major classification The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate. Out of state corporations shall furnish a certificate of authority to transact business in Alabama. Out of state limited liability companies shall provide proof of registration to transact business in this state. All bidders must comply with Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975.
