Renovation of a mixed-use development in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 39-story above grade hospitality development; and office development.
The United Nations Development Corporation (UNDC) is a New York State public benefit corporation created in 1968 to develop and operate office space and other facilities for the benefit of the international community in the vicinity of the United Nations headquarters in New York. UNDC financed, developed, and currently operates three buildings known as One, Two, and Three United Nations Plaza. One UN Plaza is a 39-story combined-use office and hotel building. UNDC is seeking a qualified contractor to provide general construction services including all material, labor, and oversight for office renovations on the 26th Floor at One UN Plaza with the possibility of additional work on the 25th Floor. The scope of work includes but is not limited to demolition, construction of new office fronts, installation of new ceiling grids, lighting, and carpets. The scope of work is further described in a Request for Proposals (RFP). The building will be occupied and operational throughout the duration of the project and temporary measures to facilitate uninterrupted access and building services may be required. The minimum required qualifications are as follows: Ten (10) years of experience and proven track record providing construction services for projects of comparable scope, size, and complexity in New York City. Firms must be lawfully authorized to do business in the State of New York. This solicitation is subject to the procurement lobbying restrictions of New York State Finance Law Sections 139-j and 139-k. These statutes impose certain restrictions on communications between a governmental entity and an offerer during the procurement process. Offerers should only contact designated staff regarding this procurement, and designated staff are required to obtain certain information when contacted. Violations of these statutes can result in rejection for contract award and debarment from obtaining governmental procurement contacts. Further information about these requirements can be found in the Guidelines on Procurement Lobbying UNDC is required to implement the provisions of New York State Executive Law Article 15-A and Parts 140-145 of Title 5 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations (NYCRR) which require state agencies to establish goals for participation by New York State-certified minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) for their contracts, and New York State Executive Law Article 17-B and 9 NYCRR 252, which require state agencies to award 6% of their contracts to New York State-certified service-disabled veteran-owned businesses (SDVOBs). The goals for this contract are 18% for minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs), 12% for women-owned business enterprises (WBEs), and 6% for SDVOBs.
