The Town of Poughkeepsie invites sealed bids for construction of the TUCKER DRIVE FORCEMAIN REPLACEMENT, Contract No. 2023-01 as set forth in the Bid Documents prepared by the Town of Poughkeepsie. The work proposed under this contract consists mainly of excavation of drilling and receiving pits, directional drilling, construction and installation of force main, general earthwork, and abandonment of existing force main, gravity sewer lines and associated manholes. Also included is all layout, cutting, drilling, and all related work as necessary for a complete project and fully functional force main. The work will be primarily along and in Tucker Drive and Friendly Lane. All work shall comply with the accepted safety standards and better business practices. The project is bid as a lump sum for the defined work, and a predetermined and fixed general allowance amount of $50,000.00 for extra work that cannot be clearly defined or anticipated. The lowest bid will be determined on the basis of the sum of the bid price submitted by a qualified bidder for the project for the work on the bid sheet, plus the pre-determined general allowance amount of $50,000.00 as stated on the bid sheet. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Bid Guarantee (a Certified Check of the bidder drawn payable to the Town of Poughkeepsie or a Bid Bond in favor of the Town of Poughkeepsie from a recognized insurance carrier) in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid as a guarantee that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will enter into a contract with the Town of Poughkeepsie under the terms of the Bid Documents. The Town of Poughkeepsie (the Town) reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any formality or technicality in any Bid in the interest of the Town. Bidders are required to execute the non-collusion bidding certificate pursuant to GML Section 103-d that is included in the Bid Documents. Bidders are also required to comply with the provisions of Section 291-299 of the Executive Law of the State of New York. The Town of Poughkeepsie hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in regard to any agreement entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration of an award.
