Renovation of a swimming pool in Port Hardy, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.
Phase 2 - "Mechanical System Upgrades" This Tender is for Phase Two only .1 Mechanical scope: Demolition .1 In general, this phase includes the demolition of the existing dehumidification unit located above the life guard station including all associated ductwork and controls located within the space where the unit is located. Existing return air openings and supply air duct opening in the walls to be patched to match existing wall finish. .2 All ductwork located within the natatorium is to be removed and discarded. Outdoor Air and Relief Air ductwork and dampers that penetrate the roof are to be demolished. The roof is to be patched and repaired to match the existing roof. .3 Existing horizontal flue duct in the mechanical room to be demolished, with the vertical section up through the roof to be maintained. All above ground propane piping to be demolished including all existing pressure reducing valves and venting. The mechanical contractor will also review all existing piping within the mechanical room and demolish all dead or unused piping branches back to the nearest main. The mechanical contractor will also remove all existing pipe insulation within the mechanical room. 2 Mechanical scope: New Construction .1 In general, this phase includes the installation of a new air handling unit and fluid cooler on the west side of the building. These units will provide heating, cooling, and dehumidification to the Natatorium. All new ductwork complete with grilles, diffusers, and accessories will be installed within the Natatorium. .2 Within the mechanical room a new hydronic heating system will be installed to provide heating to the building. The system will consist of a heating water boiler and all required hydronic system equipment and accessories including an air separator, an expansion tank, pumps, and a glycol fill tank. The system will also include a new hydronic heating coil serving the change room make-up air and a new hydronic unit heater to provide heat to the mechanical room. All new and existing piping and ductwork will be insulated, jacketed, and identified as per mechanical specifications. .3 A new 300Ø flue will be installed for the existing domestic water heater. The flue will utilize the existing 500Ø chimney as a route up through the roof. .4 A new energy recovery ventilator (ERV) will be installed in the mechanical room to provide outdoor air to ventilate the space and pressurize the new electrical cabinet. .5 Along with the hydronic heating system, a new BMS control system will be installed in the building to control the building systems affected by the renovation, as well as the pool filtration and chemical treatment systems. No dedicated workstation will be provided as part of the scope and the controls system software will utilize the existing FM&E desktop located in the Arena .3 Electrical Scope: Electrical distribution system and natatorium lighting system upgrades; this phase includes the existing pool main service feed from the arena to remain feeding the new distribution system. All existing panelboards c/w breakers, disconnects and starters, except main breaker, (as noted on the drawings) in the building to be replaced with new. Existing natatorium lighting to be replaced with new light fixtures and controls. .4 GC must allow for Phase 2 work to be conducted in parallel with Phase 1 by a separate GC. Coordination of construction phasing, site access, lay-down areas, etc. Will be required. .5 Admin area to remain operational throughout construction, as noted on drawings Documents can be obtained from https://new.bcbid.gov.bc.ca/
