Work Location: Intersection of Main Street and Turner Ashby Drive, Town of Bridgewater, Virginia All inquiries for information regarding procurement procedures or technical information should be emailed to procurement@bridgewater.town. The "Work." The overall project is the construction of a crosswalk between Turner Ashby High School and John Wayland Elementary School, at the intersection of Main Street and Turner Ashby Drive. The project plans, designated Exhibit A, are incorporated herein; provided, however, that the "Work" in this ITB is just a portion of the of the overall project shown in Exhibit A. More specifically, the "Work" consists of (i) Those items shown on sheets C2.0-C2.2, the bulk of which are the creation of a pedestrian refuge in the Main Street median, the extension of a stormwater pipe, and the installation of six ADA curb ramps. Though shown on Sheet C2.0, the "welcome" sign is not part of Work. It has been procured elsewhere. (ii) Traffic management meeting all legal requirements, except contractors are free to formulate their own traffic-management plans, instead of using the model plan set out on sheets C4.0-C4.4. (See paragraph 17(a) below for a note about speed limits.) (iii) Supply and installation of the conduit shown on sheet C3.0, but not the other items shown on the sheet. (iv) Removal of existing crosswalk markings and stop lines at the intersection. (v) Clean-up of the intersection, restoring it to its previous condition, except as provided herein. The Work does not include painting new lines or installing the various signals which will be employed at the intersection Questions concerning this procurement should be submitted as provided on the ITB Cover. The deadline for submitting questions is Friday, February 3, 2023, at noon. Any questions submitted before the deadline will be answered and uploaded to the Town's website. Contract Time. In order to minimize disruption by and from school traffic, all Work shall be performed in one of two time periods: (i) March 11 to March 19, 2023, Rockingham County Schools' spring break, or (ii) June 13, to June 30, 2023. In order to incentivize the Contractor to do the Work in the early time period, a bonus of five percent of the bid amount will be awarded if the Work is completed from March 11 to March 19, 2023. In no event shall work be done during actual school operating hours. Time is of the essence in this contract. No notice to proceed will be issued. Contractor will provide as much notice as possible as to when it will begin the Work. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
