The City of Sumner solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in providing professional services in the area of civil engineering and municipal public works projects. Services are anticipated to commence in the first quarter of 2023 and be completed within the 2023 calendar year with the option for the City of Sumner to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. The City of Sumner reserves the right to retain the services of responsive firm(s) for subsequent phases associated with this work.The City of Sumner reserves the right to amend terms of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ), to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses. Prospective consultants will be held to the ADA and Civil Rights language adopted by the City of Sumner. Project Description The City of Sumner was recently awarded an Urban Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant from the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) to improve pedestrian safety by constructing curb, gutter, curb ramps, and sidewalk on the north side of Elm Street between Wright Avenue and Bonney Avenue. The project will also install a flashing beacon at the crosswalk leading to Seibenthalter Park located at the intersection of Elm Street and Bonney Avenue. Other improvements will include minor roadway widening to accommodate curb and gutter, utility relocates, and stormwater improvements such as catchment conveyance.
