For Redevelopment of a City property - Annie Glidden North Neighborhood The City of DeKalb is seeking proposals for the redevelopment of a City property in its Annie Glidden North neighborhood. The property is near Northern Illinois University and Greek Row. A Request for Proposals (RFP) has been released for the acquisition of the 4.87-acre property at the northwest corner of W. Hillcrest Dr. and Blackhawk Rd. The property consists of three parcels, which are vacant and served by public and private utilities. All foundation material from demolished buildings has been removed. Those submitting proposals must describe their interest in the City parcel and the community objectives that will be achieved by the acquisition and redevelopment. As of July 18, 2024, per owner, the property is being sold to Northern Illinois University. Their timetable is still years away.
