The City of St Charles is requesting bids to install a combination intrusion and fire alarm system for the Animal Shelter at 2835 W Randolph St. The fire alarm system is not required by the adopted building/fire codes but shall be installed per the requirements of the 2019 edition of NFPA 72 for non-required systems. The objective of the fire alarm system is to protect the animals housed at the shelter by providing early detection and notification, primarily when the building is unoccupied by staff. This shall include: 1. A main control panel that will monitor fire alarm and intrusion devices, mounted in the front office area. 2. The intrusion system shall be capable of being armed/disarmed at the main entry and at the secondary/garage entrance. 3. Intrusion door sensors at three egress doors and one overhead door. 4. Intrusion window sensors on the two office windows that open. 5. Smoke detection throughout. Alternate detection devices may be substituted in the kennel area where subject to moisture. 6. Visual notification device in the garage and kennel areas and an audio/visual notification device in the office area. 7. Manual pull stations are not to be included except for one pull station located near the fire alarm control panel. 8. All necessary communication devices required to provide a turn-key installation, ready to communicate to a remote monitoring station. 9. There are no duct smoke detectors currently in the hvac system and none shall be added. Any questions related to the IFB shall be submitted to Willie Hantack, Purchasing Manager, at william.hantack@stcharlescitymo.gov The submitting party acknowledges the right of the City to reject any or all bids and to waive informality or irregularity in any bid received and to award each item to different submitting parties or all items to a single submitter. In addition, the submitting party recognizes the right of the City to reject a bid if the submitterfails to furnish any required data required by the IFB, or if the bid is in any way incomplete or irregular. The City shall be the sole judge of compliance with the specifications and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or parts thereof.
