The City of Dawson, located in Lac qui Parle County, is seeking proposals from qualified firms with experience in construction for the replacement of one tennis court and one basketball court located at Gnome Park near Highway 212 on Dawson's north side. Work will include removal and replacement of existing courts, construction of fittings for tennis court and basketball nets, and the fitting of privacy/wind screens facing Highway 212. Construction is required to commence no later than June 1, 2023. Bid proposals for the construction work are to be provided to the CEDA representative at the city's Economic Development Office at the City of Dawson. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this request, to negotiate with any qualified firm or to modify or cancel in part or in its entirety the request for proposals at the City's discretion. Qualifications: Contractors bidding the work should have the following qualifications: 1.Demonstrated experience with projects of a similar size and scope. 2.Proof of bonding for the value of the bid proposal. 3.Proof of insurance binder; must carry a minimum liability of $1,500,000. The following is a description of the Scope of the Work for the work to be completed: 1. Demolition of existing Courts: Demolition and removal of debris from one tennis court (approx. 4,840ft2/1,613.33yd2) and one basketball court (approximately 5,830ft2/1,943.33yd2). 2. Replacement of demolished courts: Repouring, smoothing, leveling, sealing and painting of surface for both courts with proper markings. Ensuring adequate drainage and resilience to any future damage must be considered. 3. The re-installation of the supports for the net separating the tennis court, the basketball poles and hoops, and erection of wind/privacy screens toward Highway 212. 4. General Conditions: Includes clean up, dumpsters, mobilization, permits, bonds, insurance, barricades and protection, supervision, and any other items required to do the work.
