Construction Services for exterior repairs at the Glensheen carriage house, located adjacent to the Duluth campus. The Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota (the "University") is requesting Bids to provide construction services for exterior repairs at the Glensheen carriage house, located adjacent to the Duluth campus (the "Project"). Project Description (the "Work") - The scope of the Work includes repair/replacement of all masonry and mortar per plans and specifications. Miller Dunwiddie is the Architect/Engineer of Record for the Project. 1. Preservation Brief 1: Assessing Cleaning and Water-Repellent Treatments for Historic Masonry Buildings. 2. Preservation Brief 2: Repointing Mortar Joints in Historic Masonry Building. 3. Preservation Brief 9: The Repair of Historic Wooden Windows. 4. Preservation Brief 10: Exterior Paint Problems on Historic Woodwork. 5. Preservation Brief 22: The Preservation and Repair of Historic Stucco. 6. Preservation Brief 47: Maintaining the Exterior of Small and Medium Size Historic Buildings The work generally includes the following: a. Building general construction work, for building and site clearing, as well as the repair, patching or replacing of items or surfaces cut or removed for the work including the following major items of work: Historic Removal and Dismantling, Maintenance of Historic Cast-In-Place Concrete, Maintenance of Masonry, Maintenance of Finish Carpentry, Joint Sealants, Maintenance of Wood Windows, Maintenance of Exterior Painting, Exterior Painting of Stucco, Hazardous Materials Procedures, Preparation, Removal, and Disposal of Lead Containing Painted Materials, Impacting, Removal, and Disposal of Lead Containing Materials, Working in the Presence of Asbestos Containing Materials, Site Restoration, and related work. b. Building mechanical construction work including the following major items of work: None expected. c. Building electrical construction work including the following major items or work: None expected. d. Removal and disposal of existing materials removed or demolished. e. Temporary facilities as required for the project, protection of existing site and adjacent buildings, and temporary staging areas as required. f. Workers shall keep interior building locations used clean. Roof workers shall remove roof boots before entering buildings.
