While there is not going to be a site visit for this contract it is strongly recommended that each potential bidder ensure that he/she has a complete understanding of the requirements of this project. Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands (FFSL) in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service - Dixie National Forest (USFS) is acquiring services in this contract to provide for wildfire hazard reduction and improved wildlife habitat by mechanically removing/shredding standing live and dead pinyon pine and juniper trees and saplings with a wheeled or tracked MECHANICAL MULCHING/SHREDDER (Bullhog). Bids should be submitted on a per/acre basis and total cost basis. Per acre and total bid prices will include all mobilization and operation costs. There will be no fuel surcharges or adjustments negotiated. There will be no government provided materials for this project. Project area totals approximately 241 acres as identified on attached site map. Location and Description: The project area lies on the Pine Valley Ranger District along Forest Service (FS) roads 006, 198, 029, 037, 032 (Washington County, Utah). Please see attached map. The project area is comprised of 241 acres of land located adjacent to the listed FS roads. Slopes range from flat to 30% with most of the project being less than 20%. The treatment boundaries may have a rough flag line. However, it is recommended that boundaries be located by GPS or by using the PDF maps attached and the Avenza app. The work location is shown on the site maps. Access to the site: Access onto the project site is provided by a combination of paved highways, county dirt surface roads and jeep trails. Four (4) wheel drive vehicles are recommended in and around the project area. It will be the contractor's responsibility to get the equipment to the work site. Roads may require snow removal for access.
