Scope includes, but is not limited to, the re-configuration of the exit roadway from the Cypress Garage to better direct traffic to Terminal Drive at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) . This re-configuration will be done by re-routing the Cypress Garage exit via two new westbound lanes to better direct traffic to the I-595 and the U.S 1 bridge ramps. The valet exit/entry road will be relocated to the south of the Helix ramp as part of the project. The lower portions of the Cypress Garage exit from the Helix will also be modified as part of the project to improve the traffic flow to the west prior to entering Terminal Drive. A new Bus access ramp will be constructed east of the Helix ramp to direct bus traffic to Perimeter Road. The work is comprised mainly of mobilization, maintenance of traffic (MOT), demolition of existing parking and drainage structures, reconstruction of the lower portion of the parking garage Helix, the construction of two new traffic lanes from the Helix structure to ground level, installation of new drainage structures, relocation of the existing force main and other utilities as necessary, including lime rock base, asphalt milling and paving, concrete curbing, pavement striping and overhead directional signage, site lighting, landscaping and irrigation, and relocation of existing signage. The work will be performed during daytime and nighttime hours and will involve the closure of various travel lanes and re-routing of traffic exiting the Cypress Garage through the Helix and Terminal Drive. The construction will be completed in separate phases as described in the construction phasing plans (see Sheets CT076-CT102). Bidders should reference sheets CT076 thru CT102 to familiarize themselves with the different work phases as well as the working hours for each phase. Goal Participation: This solicitation includes participation goals for certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. Refer to Special Instructions for additional information. County/State License Requirements: In order to be considered a responsive and responsible Vendor for the scope of work set forth in this solicitation, the Vendor must possess a specified license at the time of submittal (refer to Special Instructions for requirements). Bid Guaranty: Each submittal shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount (refer to Bid Guaranty, Performance and Payment Guaranties, and Qualifications of Surety Requirements). Questions and Answers: The County provides a specified time for Vendors to ask questions and seek clarification regarding the requirements of the solicitation. Directions: - When entering FLL, follow the signage to Self-Parking. - When in the Parking Corridor to the Garages, use the lane that is second from the left. - The lane turns left into the Cypress and Hibiscus Garages Entrance. - Use the two left lanes to enter the Hibiscus Garage: park on 3 Level and above. - Take Elevators/Escalators down to the first level. - Meet on Hibiscus 1st Level, in the Southwest Corner between the Elevators/Escalators. Attendance at the site visit/pre-bid conference is optional. This information session presents an opportunity for vendors to clarify any concerns regarding the bid requirements. The vendor is cautioned that, although the site visit/pre-bid conference is optional, no modification or any changes will be allowed in the pricing because of the failure of the vendor(s) to have visited the site or to have attended the conference.
