Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a golf course in Groton, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a golf course; for site work for a golf course; and for asbestos abatement for a golf course.

**As of March 28, 2023, project was awarded to Wiese Construction & Environmental Services Inc but awarded amount is not available.** Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope and designated as bid for "shennecossett golf course clubhouse hazardous material removal, insulation replacement, & concrete slab encapsulation". Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for opening of bids. Any bid received after the time and date specified will be returned unopened The project consists of hazardous material abatement, insulation replacement, and concrete slab encapsulation of the crawl space at an existing building. The Town of Groton reserves the right to waive any formalities or to reject any or all bids. Each bidder must deposit, with his bid, security in the form of bid bond or certified check subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The Town of Groton is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. If the total amount of the bid submitted exceeds Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), or if the bid contains any add alternates and the combination of the Base Bid plus all add alternates exceeds Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), then the bid must be accompanied by a CERTIFIED CHECK or a BID BOND, signed by a responsible Surety, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the tendered bid and made payable to the order of the Town of Groton. All bid checks or bonds, except those of the lower three (3) bidders will be returned within ten (10) days of the opening of bids. Those of the lower three (3) bidders will be retained by the Town of Groton until one (1) of the lower three (3) bidders signs the contract or until all bids are rejected; however, in no case will the bid check or bond be retained for more than sixty (60) days unless forfeited as hereinafter stipulated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.' Performance Bond If the total bid price for the project exceeds Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), or if the bid contains any alternates and the combination of the Base Bid plus all Town accepted alternates exceeds Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), then either of the following is required: 1. The Contractor shall furnish a bond covering faithful performance of the Contract. Surety shall be qualified to do business in the State of Connecticut, listed on the current U. S. Treasury "T" list, and rated "A-" or better by A. M. Best. The cost of the bond premium shall be included in the Contract Sum. The amount of the bond shall be equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. Payment Bond If the total bid price for the project exceeds One Hundred Thousand ($100,000), or if the bid contains any alternates and the combination of the Base Bid plus all Town accepted alternates exceeds One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000), then either of the following is required: 1. The Contractor shall furnish a bond covering payment of obligations arising under the terms of the Contract. Surety shall be qualified to do business in the State of Connecticut, listed on the current U.S. Treasury "T" list, and rated "A-" or better by A.M. Best. The cost of the bond premium shall be included in the Contract Sum. The amount of the bond shall be equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Owner. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Owner in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda. Questions received less than seven (7) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
