The City of Burwell, Nebraska is seeking proposals for one new advanced warning signal system. The City of Burwell has been awarded grant funds through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program in coordination with FEMA and NEMA to install a new advanced warning signal system for the City of Burwell in order to protect its residents and address hazard mitigation initiatives in the current Lower Loup NRD Hazard Mitigation Plan. The City of Burwell covers a geographical area of 1.04 square miles, with one emergency warning siren planned to be located at 834 H Street, Burwell, NE 68823 or the following coordinates for accuracy: Lat: 41.780454, Long: -99.135973, replacing the existing siren. The scope of work for this project must be completed in a reasonable amount of time and not more than 12 months, unless adverse conditions arise, causing delay outside of the contractor s control, or the City of Burwell. The siren will need to be accessible to our local emergency management jurisdiction, Region 26, for remote activation, as well as remote activation by municipal employees or local emergency personnel. Bids must include, a 50 pole and installation. The siren installation will include, but is not limited to, the siren mounted at an appropriate height to allow for maximum warning signal to be broadcast without obstruction, all necessary inspections to be completed for use, all necessary installation and connection components to allow functionality and activation as needed by various emergency personnel. Bids must include an appropriately sized siren with a siren warning broadcast capability that at minimum covers the current corporate limits of the City of Burwell, but a larger siren is more appropriate to plan for growth, and a longer useable life. Bids must include a backup battery system, to allow activation even in the event power is lost. Bids must include a radio bank with charger and 6 radios for programming of remote activation.
