The City of West Chicago, Illinois will accept sealed bid proposals for the 2023 Roadway Rehabilitation Projectfor the City of West Chicago, Illinois. Please note that if you are submitting a proposal via the U.S. Postal Service, address your submittal to the City of West Chicago, 475 Main Street, West Chicago, Illinois 60185. Bid proposals are to be received in a sealed 9"x12" or 10"x13' envelope. The envelope shall be marked: "SEALED BID - 2023 ROADWAY REHABILITATION PROJECT, and the name of the bidder" The work as shown on the plans and as specified herein consists mainly of roadway resurfacing, sewer repairs, manhole structure replacement, and concrete flat work. The work is to be performed on and around various streets within varying subdivisions within the City of West Chicago. The net length of roadway improvements is approximately 16,450 feet (3.12 miles). The project includes, but is not limited to, the following items: pavement milling, hot-mix asphalt (HMA) binder and surface course installation, manhole structure repair, replacement, and adjustments, sewer repairs, PCC curb and gutter removal and replacement, PCC sidewalk removal and replacement, sidewalk ramp ADA panel installation, parkway/ditch restoration, thermoplastic pavement markings and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the Plans and described herein. Paper copies of the bidding documents are not available at the City of West Chicago. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the bid. The bid bond shall be in the form of a bid bond (IDOT form 12230 or equal), certified check or cashier's check drawn on a responsible bank doing business in the United States and shall be made payable to the City of West Chicago. All bids not accompanied by a bid deposit will be rejected. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid after the scheduled closing time for a period of ninety (90) days. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any informality in any bid proposal, to re-advertise the proposed services, and to accept the proposal most advantageous to the City. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor-Mechanical Payment Bond, both in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount as a security for the faithful performance of this contract and as a security for the payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this contract and furnishing materials in connection with this Contract, respectively. The City of West Chicago requires all Contractors bidding on Public Works projects and all of their Subcontractors to be governed by the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.
