PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, State of New York invites Sealed Proposals with respect to the award of: Rehabilitation of Landfill Gas Control and Drainage Systems at the Old Bethpage Solid Waste Disposal Complex Each bid must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified check, bank check, or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Subject to the foregoing, the availability of funds, and prevailing lawful requirements, the Town will award the contract to the lowest responsible qualified bidder. The Project location encompasses the former Old Bethpage Landfill located within the confines of the Old Bethpage Solid Waste Disposal Complex (OBSWDC) as shown on the Title Sheet of the Contract Drawings. The Contractor's work area, is depicted on Drawing 1. The Contractorshallstrictly adhere to the work area defined by the Contract Limit and as described in these specifications. The Project generally consists of the following work: - Removing damaged piping system including landfill gas (LFG) headers, laterals and fittings. Installing solid-wall high density polyethylene (HDPE) LFG collection pipes, fittings and supports (where necessary), and connecting the piping to the existing LFG collection system. - Removing damaged wellhead assemblies, including well head pipes, valves, flex hoses, and fittings. Installing new well head assemblies (Type I and Type II) and connecting to the HDPE laterals or headers. - Removing and replacing damaged wire mesh on gabion baskets. - Site preparation and restoration. - Miscellaneous Well Repair Allowance - Various well repair as directed and approved by the Town.
