The Bid describes construction of a new 26-foot single span prestressed adjacent deck beam bridge supported on concrete abutments with micropile supports. The proposed 30-foot roadway width will match existing street including a new sidewalk sized to allow the total bridge width to fit within the 50 foot right of way, and shall include all other incidental items described in the Specifications. BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION with $ 1,200,000 project estimated value. All bids shall be accompanied by bid security as a bid bond in the form prescribed under MGL Ch. 30 39M, in cash, or a certified check, or treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, drawn for an amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid; all security made payable to the City of Peabody. A Performance Bond, as well as a Labor and Materials or Payment Bond, each in such a form as prescribed in the Bid Documents, and issued by a firm properly licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, shall be furnished to the City before the signing of the Contract, by the Contractor who shall be awarded the work. These bonds shall be drawn for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Total Contract Price. Minimum wage rates apply as established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under authority of M.G.L. Chapter 149, sections 26 to 27G inclusive. The Contractor shall be responsible during the progress of the work for full compliance with these laws by their forces and those of any subcontractors who may be used, including reporting of worker payrolls. The date provided in the Notice to Proceed shall be based upon an estimated construction duration of not more than 210 calendar days to Substantial Completion, which include processing submittals to the Engineer and incorporates reasonable estimates for lead times for materials, inclusive of Contractor mobilization.
