Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Port Clinton, Ohio. Completed plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
The scope of work includes demolition of two small buildings, sealing a drinking water well, and completion of appropriate EPA and county permitting, where required for both activities. Process Please review the included scope of work prior to bidding. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The ODNR, Division of Wildlife is seeking contractors to demolish two (2) buildings at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, Jerusalem Township, Curtice, Ohio. There is one project sites with two buildings (figure 1). Work includes demolition of buildings and foundations, followed by removal and site reclamation. There is a septic system vault which needs to be removed and a drinking water well needs to be sealed (i.e. decommissioned). The contractor will be expected to work through reporting and permitting for all activities contained in this scope of work, besides the asbestos abatement and State Historic Preservation Office approvals that have been completed. This project involves the demolition of two (2) structures on Magee Marsh wildlife area (figures 1, 2, and 3). These structures consist of a concrete brick field office / lifeguard shack (Building A, figure 2), and a latrine with a pre-cast concrete vault (Building B, figure 3). All sites have been reviewed by the State Historic Preservation Office and have been inspected and abated for Asbestos (documentation available upon request). All remaining required permits and reporting must be completed by the contractor (e.g. OEPA demolition, ODNR well sealing, 811, etc.) for building demolition and well sealing at these sites, as required. There is a septic system vault which needs to be removed for Building B. All utilities have been disconnected for both structures. All debris must be hauled off-site. Any landscaping can be buried. Concrete walkways within 20 feet of the buildings must be hauled off site and impacts to native trees and vegetation should be minimized. All holes and depressions made from the demolition work must be filled, graded level, and seeded with oat or winter wheat cover crop, and strawed before payment will be made to the contractor. Before equipment is hauled off-site, the contractor must meet with the Assistant Wildlife Management Supervisor to ensure project satisfaction. Specifics for each site are described in Table 1. Additionally, site visits prior to bidding are optional. For a site visit prior to bidding, please call Patrick Baranowski, Assistant Wildlife Management Supervisor, at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area (419-345-9393) to set a date and time. Contract Evaluation and Award. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder by low lot total, as determined by the State. Low lot total will be determined by adding each of the totals together to arrive at a total for all items. Failure to bid on all items may result in the bidder being deemed not responsive.
