The Hamlet of Grovedale is one of six hamlets within the Municipal District of Greenview (MD Greenview) and is located approximately 450 km northwest of Edmonton, and approximately 20 km south of Grande Prairie. The community has a piped wastewater collection system with a central lift station. All flows collected at the central lift station are pumped to the wastewater lagoon. The existing wastewater lagoon consists of 2 anaerobic cells, 1 facultative cell and 1 storage cell. The wastewater lagoon was built in 2012. The Grovedale lagoon discharges treated effluent to a ditch. The drainage ditch conveys the treated wastewater east / south overland, to an unnamed creek. The existing lagoon is suffering from whaling of the synthetic liner of the storage cell. This project consists of construction of a new storage cell adjacent to the existing and full replacement of the existing synthetic liner of the storage cell with a new compacted clay liner. Contractors will be responsible to maintain the function of the existing wastewater lagoon while repairs are constructed and commissioned. The intent of the bid call is to obtain offers for general construction of the liner repair scope, new storage cell construction, and ancillary interconnection piping necessary.
