City of Humble is Requesting Competitive Sealed Proposals From Interested General Contractors for Design-build Services for the Construction of an Approximately 600 Square Feet Addition to the Humble Fire Marshal. The Anticipated Scope of Work Includes Architectural Design and Engineering for Foundation, Structural Components and M.e.p.; Partial Demolition of Existing Exterior Wall(S); General Construction Work Consisting of Foundation, Steel Framing of Exterior Walls, Masonry to Match Existing Brick, Roofing, Insulation, Weatherproofing, Exterior Glazing, Interor/exterior Doors, Frames, Celings, Drywall, Ceramic Tile Flooring and Base, Hvac, Electrical, Communications & Low Voltage Components and Interior Finishes and Painting. Further Proposal Instructions Will Be Included in the Project Manual. It is the Sole Responsibility of the Bidder to Insure That His/her Bid is Actually in the City of Humble City Secretary's Office Prior to the Expiration of the Time and Date Above First Written. It Shall Be Each Bidder's Sole Responsibility to Inspect the Site of the Work and to Inform Him/herself Regarding All Local Conditions Under Which the Work is to Be Done. It Shall Be Understood and Agreed That All Such Factors Have Been Thoroughly Investigated and Considered in the Preparation of the Bid Submitted. Bid Security in the Amount of Five (5) Percent of the Greatest Amount Bid Must Accompany Each Bid in Accordance With the General Instructions to Bidders. Bids Will Be Required to Be Submitted Under a Condition of Irrevocability for a Period of Ninety (90) Days After Bid Opening." the Successful Bidder Will Be Required to Furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in an Amount of 100% of the Total Contract Price. The Contractor and All Subcontractors for This Project Will Be Required to Pay Not Less Than the Prevailing Wage Rates for the Area of the Project and to Be in Compliance With Executive Order 11246, as Amended, Entitled "Equal Employment Opportunity" and as Supplemented in the Department of Labor Regulation (41 Cfr Part 60). Upon Consideration of the Proposals the City Council Plans to Award a Contract; However, the City Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids, to Waive Any and All Formalities and Technicalities, and to Accept Any Bid Which It Deems Advantageous to the City. Each Bidder Agrees to Waive Any Claim It Has or May Have Against the City and Their Respective Agents and/or Employees Arising Out of or in Connection to With the Administration, Evaluation or Recommendation of Any Bid.
