The District School Board of Niagara (hereafter referred to as the DSBN) hereby invites submissions to obtain the services of several Automatic Door Opener and/or Overhead Door Contractors to perform various repairs, installations and maintenance at DSBN facilities, on an as needed basis for a three-year period beginning March 15, 2023 and ending March 14, 2026. The DSBN Facility Services department will assign work to Contractors on the basis of best fit subject to the availability of the Contractor to meet DSBN requirements. Proponents(s) who have previously been qualified to provide the services as described herein, or who are currently performing work for the DSBN must also respond to this request to be considered for future work assignment. Where projects or work differs significantly from the scope of work herein, the DSBN reserves the right to utilize a different process and different Contractors. Contractors will be pre-qualified under two (2) different categories based on scope of work: Category A - Supply, Delivery, Repair, and Installation of Automatic Door Openers Category B - Supply, Delivery, Repair, and Installation of Overhead Doors The DSBN shall pre-qualify Contractors for either or both categories based on the Contractor's relevant experience and their references provided. The following are representative of the services which may be required: Category A Service for various style of automatic doors: such as swinging, sliding, and folding Service for commercial door hardware such as hands-free openers Preventative maintenance inspections Category B Overhead doors Overhead door accessories Door openers Remotes This is not an all-inclusive list. Other types of repairs and services may be required. The DSBN requires confirmation of initial request for service within 1 working day and on-site review of work, confirmation of schedule and estimate within 3 working days. The Contractor shall respond within one (1) hour of notification to requests for emergency service calls and be on site within four (4) hours. Service shall be made available to the DSBN 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. Billable time will be based on hourly rates submitted. All work shall be performed according to the standards of the applicable trades and to the complete satisfaction of the DSBN. The bidder is required to verify prior to pricing projects that all specified items will be available in time for installation to ensure orderly and timely progress of the work. The DSBN Facility Representative shall approve the use of any materials other than those specified by the DSBN. The Contractor may present alternatives and options to the DSBN for approval. In some cases, the DSBN may supply the materials to be used by the Contractor and in these circumstances no markup shall apply to these materials. The Contractor may be required from time to time to provide a quote for work required which may not result in the work being awarded. The Contractor shall not invoice the DSBN for this service. The DSBN complies with the Broader Public Sector Directives (as directed by the Province of Ontario); and applicable trade agreements such as Ontario-Quebec Trade and Cooperation Agreement, Comprehensive Economic & Trade Agreement (CETA) and Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
