Renovation of a municipal facility in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The work includes General, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical work to be constructed under one Single Prime Contract. The extent of work is shown on the drawings and specified in the project manual. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on a bank of trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation made payable to The City of Hendersonville in an amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the base bid or by a bond in the above amount executed in accordance with and conditioned as prescribed by G.S. 143-129, State of North Carolina. If the successful bidder fails to give satisfactory surety as required by law, the above deposit will be retained by the Owner. All contractors are hereby notified that they shall be properly licensed under the state laws governing their trades. The successful General Contractor will be asked to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond for 100% of Contract Amount after selection. If awarded, the bid will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, taking into account quality, performance and time, and demonstrated compliance with the formal HUB solicitation requirements as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The City reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any and all proposals for any reason determined to be in the best interest of the City, except for the purpose of evading the bid laws. Nonresponsive bids will be rejected.
