It is the intent of the Board to prequalify Contractors to be utilized for the construction of a new two storey Catholic secondary school facility located in Brantford, Ontario. Request for Tender is planned for July 2024 and project completion by summer of 2026. The Board intends to utilize a design-bid-build project methodology (CCDC 2 - 2020 and Supplementary Terms and Conditions) with a stipulated price where a single Design Services consultant (already retained by the Board) and a single General Contractor will be engaged directly by the Board for all work contemplated. The Board reserves the right to limit the number of Contractors (in each of the 3 categories) prequalified as part of this RFSQ process. The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is currently in the design phase of a new two-storey Catholic secondary school facility with a Child Care Centre located in Brantford, Ontario. A new, green field secondary school facility constructed within the last 10 years with a size of approximately 165,000 sq ft in gross floor area comprised of: - A two-storey Catholic Secondary School with an approximate gross floor area of 153,000 sq ft. - A single-storey Childcare Centre with an approximate gross floor area of 12,000 sq ft. The facility will be home to approximately 1,257 students and will include typical classrooms, administrative spaces and Technology / Specialty Trade / Science / Art / Computer / Cosmetology classrooms, a triple gymnasium with change rooms, theatre, library, cafeteria and chapel. The Childcare Centre will include infant, toddler and pre-school care rooms and support spaces. Car Parking, bus layby areas, access ways and outdoor amenities serving the facility will be provided including outdoor sports field and 8-lane running track, landscape areas open space recreation areas, walkways, fencing and lighting. The Board will not be moving forward with the prequalification of the mechanical and electrical contractors through this process. Prequalified General Contractors are advised that prequalified lists for mechanical or electrical contractors will not be provided at the time of tender. As of August 7, 2024, the Stage II Invitation to Bid (ITB) timeline to the prequalified firms has yet to be issued or confirmed by the owner. Stage II will be advertised on the Bids and Tenders website; timelines have not yet been identified by the Board. Project completion by summer of 2026.
