The scope of work for this project shall consist of improvements on Maple Street from Park to Burdick, a distance of approximately 0.30 centerline miles. Improvements include milling and resurfacing 2 inches (220 lb/syd) of hot mix asphalt (HMA); replacement of curb & gutter at various locations; construction of sidewalk, ramps, speed humps, and driveway approaches; tree plantings; and other minor items as depicted in project plans. All necessary traffic control, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and other items incidental to the work being performed shall be included in the Contractor's unit price for this contract. Such items will not be bid or paid for separately but shall be included in the overall unit price. The bidder shall furnish all labor, supervision, supplies, tools, equipment, and other means necessary or proper for performing and completing the work. The bidder shall be responsible for the cleaning up of the job site and shall repair or restore all structures and property that may be damaged or disturbed during performance of the work to the satisfaction of the Public Services Department for the City of Kalamazoo. Drainage structure covers shall be salvaged and reused if in usable condition; otherwise, they shall be replaced. Where needed, all traffic control used for such operations as defined by the MMUTCD will be the responsibility of the bidder.
