This description is furnished for the use of bidders in generally locating and evaluating the project and is not intended in any way to be a complete listing of the work involved. All bidders are required to familiarize themselves with the details of the bidding procedure and the work to be performed. The Contract Documents, including specifications and plans are on file and may be obtained in the Office of the City Controller, third floor, Kokomo City Hall, Kokomo, Indiana. All bidders shall furnish with their bid, a bid bond or certified check equal to ten percent ( l 0%) of their total bid. In no case shall any check or bond be less than the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). All Contractors submitting bids on this project must attend the prebid meeting. Contractors who do not attend the pre-bid meeting will have their bid returned unopened. All bidders proposing to perform work having a contract value in excess of $150,000.00 shall submit Form 96 CONTRACTORS BID FOR PUBLIC WORKS with a financial statement as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts. All bids shall be submitted on forms provided by the City. The Contractor to whom the work is awarded will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to the contract amount before commencing work. The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The Board also reserves the right to decrease the estimated quantity, increase the estimated quantity or completely delete any item shown on the bid sheet form and to waive any irregularities in the bidding procedure. No bidder may withdraw any bid or proposal within a period of one hundred eighty days (180) days following the date set for receiving bids or proposals. The Owner reserves the right to hold any or all bids or proposals for a period of not more than one hundred eighty days (180) days and said bids or proposals shall be and remain valid and in full force and effect during said period.
