The owner has determined a prequalified list of design builders. The City of Port Orange is soliciting sealed Proposals to acquire the services of certified companies to design and build a new themed playground, replacing the current City Center Playground. This project is funded, in part, with an ECHO (Environmental Cultural Historic Outdoor Recreation) Grant. A Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety or a certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Port Orange, Florida in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposed price must be submitted with each proposal. If awarded, the Proposer must also be able to obtain both payment and performance bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of project value from a surety company licensed in Florida and must submit proof of their present bonding capacity with their submitted package in the form of a current (not older than 3 months) letter from bonding agent. Failure to include the bonding capacity letter with submittal may result in rejection of submittal. Estimates value - s $300,000 The work of this project consists of all demolition and disposal of the old playground equipment including grading ofthe site, survey, design, permitting, outside agency application and inspection fees (any City fees will be handled by thecontractor), labor, materials, equipment, tools, apparatus transportation, services, incidentals and all work necessaryto construct the new playground. The Port Orange City Center Sports Complex is located at 4625 City Center Dr., Port Orange, FL. The City desires to have the design of the equipment and layout be consistent with a sports theme. The playground equipment shall meet all the functional requirements as well as bring the latest in recreation design and philosophy to the layout. The selected firm will be required to post a Performance and Payment Bond for the Construction.
