All bidders must show proof that he or she is licensed in the State of Louisiana to perform this type of work. Contractors license number must be on the face of the sealed envelope containing the bid. The envelope must be designated asSealed Bid 2023 PARISHWIDE CANAL DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS. St. John the Baptist Parish Council, being a government agency, is exempt from all sales tax. Therefore, the amount you bid should contain no sales tax. The bid must be accompanied by a bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid and must in the form of a certified check, cashiers check or bid bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond written by company licensed to do business in Louisiana, in the amount of $100,000.00 to be held until December 31, 2023. Certificates of Insurance will also be required. St. John the Baptist Parish reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept any bid which the Council feels serves their best interest. Such action shall be in accordance with LA Revised Statute 38.
