As of December 19, 2023 the project is in site plan review. Construction is expected to start in 2025.The County anticipates putting the construction of the park out for bid through the Cobb County Purchasing Department in 2024. Request for Proposals Professional Design and Construction Administration Services for Ebenezer Downs Park Cobb County PARKS Department Cobb County Government (“County” or “Owner”) seeks proposals from qualified firms (“Consultant”) for Professional Services for the Design, Cost Estimating, Bidding Assistance and Construction Administration Services for improvements at Ebenezer Downs Park, located at 4055 Ebenezer Road, Marietta, GA 30066. The professional services to be performed include, but are not limited to: restroom building design, lake pavilion and lake platform design, site and utility design, trail design, demolition plans, construction documents, all applicable permitting, cost estimating, bidding assistance and construction administration. The scope of this project is to provide the necessary design and permitting to construct the park per the Master Plan. Construction of the park is an eligible project and will be funded by the 2022 SPLOST. The home on the property with an attached garage, will be renovated by the Owner and it is not part of the scope of this project. Two (2) wells existed on the property but have been closed by the Owner. The existing dock at the lake was deemed unsafe and has been removed by the Owner. Possible replacement of the dock is included in the scope of this project. The lake is considered State Waters and any work on or near the lake must be permitted through the appropriate agencies. The Little Noonday Creek Trail (H on the Master Plan) is not part of the scope of this project. A playground is shown on the Park Master Plan. The Consultant shall develop all civil requirements for the playground including, but not limited to location, grading, underdrains, etc., but the Owner will design, purchase and install the playground equipment and surfacing. Consultant shall coordinate layout and placement of playground with Owner. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
