The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is accepting bids for Overlay, Chip Seal, Fog Seal S-211 Missoula Area. PROJECT SITE: C000211 ROUND BUTTE ROAD MM 1.0 TO 5.0; STARTING APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE WEST OF THE MT-S-211 AND US 93 NORTH JCT ON THE WEST END OF THE TOWN OF RONAN THEN WESTERLY APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES ENDING AT MM 5.0 Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control to cold mill approximately 63,360 square yards of roadway at a depth of .15' as directed by MDT's project manager. The Contractor is responsible for hauling and disposal of the generated cold millings. The disposal site for the millings that are generated on the S-211 Round Butte project will be off North Reservoir Road approximately 1 mile west of its JCT with US 93 North near Pablo. Contractor will be required to stockpile the millings to facilitate water runoff at the Lake County site as directed by the MDT project Manager. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, tack, and compact approximately 6,287 tons of 1/2" Commercial Plant Mix Grade S 64-28 asphalt mix material. The overlay shall be paved .15 feet thick and approximately 27 feet wide. Contractor is responsible for identifying centerline prior to paving and must use an identifiable method to maintain consistent centerline control (i.e., Stringline or Paint) with approval from MDT's project manager when paving Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, roll, and broom approximately 63,360 square yards of laid-in-place chip seal. The chip seal will be approximately 4 miles long and 27 feet wide. Contractor shall provide CHFRS-2P asphalt emulsion and Type 1 chips. Traffic control with pilot cars must be maintained until dusk or fading light each workday as determined by the Project Manager. The emulsion application rate for chip seals is estimated at .41 gallons per square yard. The cover material application rate is estimated at 23 pounds per square yard. Actual application rates will be based on the chip design and the actual field adjustments. If the cover material application rate of 23 pounds per square yard is not sufficient to provide a quality job, the Project Managers will jointly determine what the new application rate should be. Contractor must furnish a water truck for dust control and wetting of chips. Arrangements must be made by the Contractor for acquiring water for wetting and sweeping.
