Contractors and subcontractors on this project will undergo a standardized evaluation upon completion of the work. The results of this evaluation may influence the determination of the contractor's eligibility to bid on future projects as governed by the purchasing policies and city code of the City of Davenport. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - The specified start date set by the Notice to Proceed will be after the last date of school for the Davenport district which is posted for June 3, 2023. At that time, the Iowa American Water contractor shall begin construction of the water main for Location A. Coordination will be required between both contractors to maintain progress on the site. Communication between contractor will be mandatory to maintain progress on the site to meet the completion date. All work shall be completed, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment by August 26, 2023. The proposed work includes all labor, materials, tools, supplies, utility and transportation services, equipment and all incidentals necessary for Intersection Reconstruction at Locust & Eastern. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $200 per day Manufacturer's written warranties and guarantees shall also be required from the awarded bidder. Bidders must include with the bid submittal a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Vehicle insurance coverages. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so.
