The City of Santa Monica is re-soliciting bids from qualified contractors interested in providing construction services for the 7th Street Fencing Upgrade and Activation Project (SP2577).. Project improvements to the Big Blue Bus property at 1620 6th Street include (1) Removal and replacement of fencing along the west side of 7th Street north of Olympic Boulevard, (2) New fencing at the 5th/Olympic fueling station, and (3) Conversion of landscape buffer along the west side of 7th Street to an active series of food, mobility, and dog exercise areas. This Project constitutes a "public works" project within the meaning of California Labor Code section 1720 and is subject to the prevailing wage laws. Bidder should familiarize itself with the prevailing wage provisions in Article 13 (Statutory Requirements) of the City's General Conditions. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check made payable to the City of Santa Monica, or a Bidder's bond (using the form provided in the Bid Form) for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract with the City. Bid bonds (or cashier's checks) must be scanned and uploaded into OpenGov. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids. Bidders will not be released on account of errors except that the City reserves the right to waive any minor irregularity or informality in any Bid.
