The Owner will receive sealed Bids for furnishing of all materials and labor for the 500,000 Gallon Eastern Illinois University (El 1)) City of Charleston Elevated Water Tower Renovation Project, Charleston, Coles County, Illinois. Project Description: Surface preparation and full painting of the interior, wet of the 500,000 gallon elevated water tower including the high pressure power washing to an SSPS-SP1 of all interior, wet surfaces, the full coating removal of the existing interior, wet coating systems and the full surface preparation to an SBPC-BP10 of all interior surfaces of the interior, wet and the application of a 3 coat zinc epoxy coating system on all interior, wet locations, and along with miscellaneous minor exterior, interior, dry and interior, wet repair items as listed. Bid alternates for the Exterior (#1) and Interior, Dry (#3) Full Surface Preparation and Painting, logo and lettering, (#3) and temporary hydropneumatic lank (#4) are requested and required for a complete Bid, Included will be the replacement and repairs to the existing cathodic protection system with a new submerged floating cathodic protection system with new rectifier box and components, The Contract Documents may be examined at the offices of the Engineer during normal business hours. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, bank cashier's check, or properly certified check in the amount of 10%. A Contract Bond in the total amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. To be provided as part of this work shall be full interior, wet dehumidification and required temperature control equipment as well as a bid alternate for a temporary hydropneumatic water storage lank. An exterior and interior tank condition report for the elevated water tower was completed on November 5, 2021 and is included as part of the Bidding Documents, Photographs that accompanied the tank inspection report are available for review at the offices of the Engineer during normal business hours for verification of tank conditions, work items, and repair areas specified. The Contractor shall be required to provide certificates of insurance as indicated in the documents. The Contractor will be required to comply with all Federal, State and Municipal laws and regulations, including those related to discrimination, prevailing wage, safety, bid-rigging, human rights, preferential employment of Illinois labor and equal opportunity employment. The City of Charleston reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any formalities or inconsistencies in the bids, to reduce the scope of work to accommodate the project budget, to accept any proposals which it deems most favorable, or to continue the letting from time to time as deemed in the best interest of the Owner. Bids may be held by the it of Charleston for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract. The contract completion construction period for the Base Bid has been set at 60 calendar days
