The City is soliciting bids for the project known as the 2023 Country Club Drive Water Stub & E Second Street Sanitary and Storm Sewers Project. Sealed bids for the following proposal: construct a 12" water main along Country Club Drive from N. Detroit Street due east 120 LF. Project to include all required water appurtenances, traffic control and testing. And, replace an existing 6" sanitary sewer with an 8" sanitary sewer and tie in all existing sewer services on E. Second Street. Also replace an existing 54" stone culvert with a 60" culvert, and tie into all existing storm catch basins, as directed by the City Engineer, and in accordance with the Conditions Furnishing of labor and materials required for the 2023 Country Club Water Stub and E. Second St. Sanitary and Storm Sewers Project according to the Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Specifications, Plans and/or Drawings included with the bid packets. Bids are to be submitted on the following proposal: Phase I will consist of constructing a 12" water main along Country Club Dr. from N. Detroit St. due east 120', including all required water appurtenances, traffic control and testing. Phase II will consist of replacing an existing 6" sanitary sewer with an 8" sanitary sewer along E. Second St. and tying in all existing sewer services, replacing an existing 54" stone culvert with a 60" culvert, and tying in all existing storm catch basins along E. Second St. The project shall be completed as directed by the City Engineer and in accordance with the General Conditions, Specifications, Plans and/or Drawings included in the bid packets. Bids are to be submitted on a per unit basis and are to be for complete work (including all equipment, labor and materials). The estimated total cost for the project will not exceed $755,000.00. Pursuant to ORC Section 153.54, no bid shall be considered unless it is accompanied by bid guaranty in the form of a bid bond for the full amount of the bid -OR- a cashier's check or certified check, issued by a responsible bank or trust company and payable to the order of the City of Xenia, or a letter of credit issued in accordance with ORC Chapter 1305., in the sum of at least ten percent (10%) of the bid. The bid guaranty shall be enclosed with the sealed bid. The attention of Bidders is directed to the special statutory provisions contained in ORC Chapter 4115, governing the prevailing rate of wages to be paid to laborers and mechanics employed on this Project, and also to ORC 153.59 regarding nondiscrimination. The City of Xenia reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any discrepancies or irregularities in the Bids. The Bid will be awarded, in the City's discretion, to the lowest and best Bidder Questions of interpretation shall be made in writing and shall be addressed to the City Engineer. All clarifications issued by the City will be issued to all Bidders of record, in accordance with paragraph 4.03, below.
