Spring Lake Township is currently accepting bids for snow and ice removal on township roads. The Township currently maintains 16.5 miles of gravel road and 39.22 miles of bituminous road. Spring Lake Township will accept bids with hourly rates for the contract period March 15, 2023 to March 14, 2026. The bid should contain the following: 1. A schedule of available equipment for snow removal and the applicable hourly rate. Minimum requirement is a plow truck, wing and sander with a minimum 5-yard box, and a road grader (minimum 150 hp) with a V-plow and wing. 2. A schedule of available equipment for the application of salt, chips, sand/salt mix and the applicable hourly rate. Salt, sand/salt mix, and chips shall be available seven (7) days a week and stored in a protected location at contractors premises or a location acceptable to the Town Board. All bids must include a copy of the certificate of insurance showing current workers compensation coverage and a general liability policy with an aggregate limit of at least $1,500,000.
